--- OBJECTIVE: Determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and type of practices related to the attention of childbirth humanized in the professional of Obstetrics and Gynecology services in Sergio E. Bernales Nacional Hospital during the period of January to February 2016. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Descriptive study, based on observation, qualitative and quantitative of cross-section. This study involved 40 health professionals of Obstetrics and Gynecology services in Sergio E. Bernales Nacional Hospital during the period of January to February 2016. The data was collected by the application of structured survey for test the knowledge, checklist for practices and the technique of focal group for the attitudes. For statistical analysis, it were used measures of central tendency and dispersion such as the mean and standard deviation for quantitative variables. RESULTS: 92.5% of the professionals who participated in the study were women, 85% were Obstetricians. In assessing knowledge related to the attention of childbirth humanized, from a total of 40 participants, 50% had a high level, 35% a medium level and 15% a low level of knowledge. The attitudes of health professionals against the attention of childbirth humanized were mostly positive. Practices related to the attention of childbirth humanized were inadequate in 70.8% and adequate in 29.2%. CONCLUSIONS: The realization of practices related to the attention of childbirth humanized is influenced by the level of knowledge and attitudes towards this model of attention.
