--- INTRODUCTION: Eating behavior disorders (EBD) are recent research in Latin America. Currently they are considered a public health problem because of its increasing prevalence in both genders. OBJECTIVE: To describe the prevalence of risk of EBD in pre-university students Aduni-Cesar Vallejo Academy; identify possible associated factors and assess the internal consistency of the instrument in the study population. DESIGN: descriptive correlational cross-sectional study. PARTICIPANTS: Pre-University Students Aduni-Cesar Vallejo Academy in the month of January 2016. INTERVENTIONS: A non-probabilistic sampling was performed for convenience, obtaining 462 samples. The EAT-26 was applied and data on age, sex, marital status, occupation, area to which postulates, weight and height were collected. For bivariate analysis, the Chi-square and Mann Whitney U tests were used; and to measure the internal consistency of the instrument Cronbach's alpha index was calculated. RESULTS: 17.53% of the students present risk of EBD (18.70% women and 16.38% men). The age group more common was 14 to 21 years (98.77%). No significant by linking sociodemographic variables and risk of TCA association was evident. The internal consistency of EAT-26 was optimal (α = 0.827). CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of risk of eating behavior disorders in pre-university students Aduni-Cesar Vallejo Academy is maintained within the range of frequencies reported. The most commonly reported female EBD risk that the male and the average age was 17 years. The EAT-26 had high reliability in the study population. KEYWORDS: Eating behavior disorders, EBD, eating attitudes test, EAT-26, pre-college students.
