Abstract: Objetivo: El objetivo principal del presente estudio fue determinar la asociación existente entre la Violencia Basada en Género y la Depresión Post-Parto en el Hospital San Bartolomé; así mismo, se describieron los factores predictores de depresión post-parto y las características sociodemográficas y del parto de las puérperas participantes del estudio.
Metodología: El tipo de estudio fue observacional de corte transversal, cuyo número de muestra fue constituida por 100 mujeres de 1-12 meses de tiempo puerperal. A quienes se les aplicó, previa firma de consentimiento informado, una ficha de datos sociodemográfica y del parto, la Escala de Depresión Post-Natal de Edimburgo (EDPE), el Inventario Revisado de Factores Predictores de Depresión Post-Parto de Beck y el Instrumento de Detección de Violencia Basada en Género. Posteriormente se catalogaron operacionalmente los casos de Depresión Post-Parto como aquellas mujeres quienes obtuvieron puntaje mayor o igual a 13 puntos en la EDPE. Se realizó el análisis de los datos aplicando las pruebas Odds Ratio, Chi-cuadrado y la prueba exacta de Fisher., según fuera conveniente.
Objective: The primary objective of the present study was to determine the existing association between the Violence Based on Gender and the Post-Partum Depression in the Hospital San Bartolome; also, predictors of depression post-childbirth and the sociodemografics characteristics and of the childbirth of the participant of the study described themselves to the factors. Methodology: The type of study was observacional of cross section, whose number of sample was constituted percent women of 1-12 months of puerperal time. To those who it was applied to them, previous signature of informed consent, a sociodemografic card of data and the childbirth, the Scale of Depression Postnatal of Edinburgh (EDPE), the Reviewed Inventory of Predicting Factors of Post-Partum Depression of Beck and the Detection device of Violence Based on Gender. Later the cases of Post-Childbirth Depression were catalogued operationally like those women who obtained greater or equal to 13 points in the EDPE. The analysis of the data was made applying the Odds tests Ratio, Chi-square and the exact test of Fisher, according to outside advisable.
