The growth of the vehicle fleet causes road problems due to the overdemanding infrastructure. This problem is also observed in our city of Cusco, and it is mainly evidenced in El Sol Avenue. It is for this reason that the present thesis entitled: "EVALUATION OF THE LEVELS OF SERVICE, SEMAPHORIC TIME AND VOLUME OVER CAPACITY THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GREEN WAVE SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF AV EL SOL, CUSCO-2023. "The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of the implementation of the green wave system in the different intersections having as main hypothesis that with the implementation of such system the level of service, volume over capacity (v/c) and the distribution of traffic light times will be optimized. This thesis is developed under a quantitative approach of experimental design and descriptive-explanatory scope, also making use of the Highway Capacity Manual 6th edition (HCM), specifically chapter 16 - traffic light coordination. The population is eight intersections, five of which are traffic signalized and three of which are not. This research includes the collection of current data regarding traffic signal timing, vehicle flow rates and characteristics of the avenue under study. In addition, the Synchro Traffic 11. 00 software is used to model the current situation of the road, with the following significant results with the implementation of the green wave system: The level of service is reduced at intersections 2, 5 and 6 from "F" to "C"; the volume over capacity (v/c) is reduced at intersection 2 from 1.16 to 0.86, at intersection 8 from 1.15 to 1.09; at intersection 5 from 1.52 to 0.81, at intersection 6 from 2.40 to 0.88 and the cycle time at all intersections is reduced from 120 seconds to 90 seconds. Finally, it is concluded that after conducting a road study, different modifications can be made to improve the quality of road service provided to citizens. At the end of the respective analyses, it can be affirmed that the application of the green wave system improves the level of service, the volume over capacity ratio (v/c), and the traffic light time; therefore, it improves traffic circulation.
