The present study set its goal into estimating the possible existence of a relation between Cannabis Sativa consumption and the periodontal health status among young adult students from the Universidad Andina del Cusco’s Health Sciences Faculty in the year 2019. The study is non-experimental quantitative, following a relational, cross-sectional approach. The sample was composed by 347 students aged between 18 to 25 years old chosen by random simple sampling method. First, a questionnaire was applied to obtain the age and professional school, besides to identify consumers, consumption patterns and opinions related to Cannabis. The resulting data was compiled into a database made for the study and the processed employing a logistic regression analysis, square chi and McFadden’s pseudo R 2 . The obtained results were that: consumption prevalence among students is set on 32%; male students are more prone to be consumers than female; 91.9% of the students have some kind of issue regarding their periodontal health status; Cannabis consumption did not demonstrated to be capable of predicting variations on periodontal health status; 79,3% of consumers refer to have started consuming more than a year before the study took place; 62,2% of consumers refer to consume in an occasional or monthly frequency, 70,3% of consumer’s families have a negative perception about marijuana consumption; 87.9% of consumers refer that their families don’t know about their habit; 59,5% of consumers refer to have started consuming because of curiosity; 68,5% of consumers refer to use marijuana as recreation; students mainly perceive marijuana consumption as harmful (48,13%) and innocuous (42,07%); 31,99% of students affirm that marijuana is moderately accessible in Cusco; student’s friend circles opinion about marijuana consumption is mainly neutral (78,38%); 46,1% of students refer to agree to marijuana consumption legalization. The study concludes that there is no clue to show a clear relation between marijuana consumption and periodontal health status among Universidad Andina del Cusco’s health sciences students.
