The present research aims to develop a prototype of a serious video game as a proposal for a support tool for the learning of topics or subjects such as Chemistry, in this case, the prototype will focus on the basic concepts for learning Stoichiometry, for which we will share antecedents of diverse similar investigations, a theoretical frame focused on the design of Serious Games, Stoichiometry and the development of video games using an agile methodology, all coming from reliable sources. To carry out this research, we worked with students and teachers from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the Andean University of Cusco, particularly those who take the subject of Chemistry I, where a possible difficulty in understanding basic concepts of Stoichiometry was evidenced. The information obtained was used as the basis for the conceptualization and design of the components of the serious video game prototype. To develop the prototype of a serious video game, the agile development methodology ASD was used, whose main characteristic is to continuously adapt to change, which allows the development team to adapt the process in which the iterations are carried out, to the unforeseen situations that may arise during the development of the project. On the other hand, the Unity video game engine was used to develop the prototype that would be compiled for mobile devices as a deployment platform, mainly for devices with the Android operating system. This thesis is an applied research focused on the Information Technology domain area, due to the fact that a software product was developed, which in this case is a serious video game for mobile devices that shares and puts into practice basic concepts for the learning of Stoichiometry, proposing the development of this type of software to support learning processes inside and outside of educational environments.
