In 2015, the municipality of the district of Quellouno promoted Procompite's competitive fund to improve the competitiveness of its business plans. The AEO that won was the: “Improvement of the Quality and Provision of Tourist Services in the Quellouno Rural Ecotourism Association“, with the objective of knowing if these resources obtained had repercussions on the sustainable development of the population. In this understanding, it was sought to determine if this relationship exists, collecting data regarding the indicators of the dimensions of sustainable development; as well as the indicators of agro tourism. The study involved a type of applied research, with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design, a longitudinal cut and a descriptive-relational scope. The sample calculation was of a finite population, with a 50% success rate, resulting in a sample of 377 people for the survey and 8 people were interviewed among associates and workers of the AEO. Among the most outstanding results, it was obtained that agro tourism and sustainable development are not statistically independent, but there is a direct relationship; given that the chi-square test obtained a probability where p < 0.05; this it can be concluded in general terms that within Procompite's legal framework, agro tourism and sustainable development are directly related to a direct incidence of 43.5% in a medium manner. This result suggests that both an adequate management of Procompite's fund and the promotion of other agro-tourism enterprises will allow the promotion of sustainable development through environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism activities.
