The objective of this research was to identify the epistemic conditions in contemporary psychological systems to make their paradigmatic integration viable based on their theoretical-methodological deconstruction. For this, it was necessary to know the conceptual development of psychology from its philosophical origins, determine its scientific status from the historicist perspective of Thomas Kuhn, and evaluate if there are theoretical-methodological links that allow us to weigh the viability of its unification in the mentioned categories. Its fulfillment implied developing a conceptual (substantive) and argumentative investigation, applying a documentary meta-analysis with a hermeneutical-propositional design. From the findings found and from a meta-theoretical analysis of the antecedents and paradigmatic proposals developed by other researchers, it was concluded that currently four unrelated paradigms coexist, such as psychoanalysis, phenomenalism, constructivism and objectivism; not existing sufficient epistemic conditions to make a theoretical-methodological deconstruction tangible that integrates them as a unified paradigm, since they are rooted and entrenched in divergent and unconnected ontological and gnoseological conceptions. A reality that reveals psychology as a multiparadigmatic science, where none of the paradigms demarcates a sufficient domain to impose its methods and postulates on the others, and, even less, establish a period of “normal science“. However, within this divergence and dissension, significant indications were identified that open the possibility of a partial integration between the methodologies of the objectivist and constructivist paradigm, which, based epistemologically on empiricism, have been creating a fruitful space for exchange and cognitive integration.
