Objectives: Describe the maternal - perinatal complications in patients with COVID-19 at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital of EsSalud - Cusco, September 2020 to June 2021. Methods: Observational, descriptive, retrospective study and univariate statistical analysis. All pregnant women with COVID-19 and their newborns participated. Results: By evaluating 226 pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19 and 180 newborns. 70.8% obtained a diagnosis by rapid test. The range of 20-35 years prevailed. 39% were nulliparous. Frequent obstetric complications: preterm delivery 11.1%; and premature rupture of membranes 12.4%. Laboratory abnormalities such as leukocytosis, lymphopenia, and elevated CRP were common. They reported 51% of cesarean sections. 3.1% required admission to an intensive care unit. Newborn complications: 14.8% prematurity, 6% low birth weight, and 1.1% stillbirth. The APGAR score: at the first minute, 2.2% obtained 4-6 points, and at five minutes, all obtained ≥7 points. 16.1% required admission to a neonatal intensive care unit. They performed a 1.7% RT-PCR test, being non-reactive. Conclusions: Finding 11.1% preterm delivery and 12.4% premature rupture of membranes. Leukocytosis 20.8%, lymphopenia 19% and CRP elevation 10.2%. 3.1% required admission to an intensive care unit. And newborn complications: prematurity 14.8%, low birth weight 6%, stillbirth 1.1%, and admission to the neonatal intensive care unit 16.1%.
