The general objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about cariogenic foods of the users of the Santa Clara dental clinic, Cusco 2022. The methodology developed was quantitative, prospective, descriptive, descriptive, field, quantitative, non-experimental, transversal, descriptive, prospective and field, in which a sample of 140 patients was considered and to whom the questionnaire instrument was applied. As a result, 60% of the users showed a low level of such knowledge, on the other hand, 35% of this population showed a medium level of knowledge, and finally only 5% of this same sample showed a high level of knowledge about cariogenic foods. Regarding the dimensions analyzed, 50.7% have a regular level of knowledge on the cariogenic potential of foods and 32.9% have a low level of knowledge. In the dimension of cariogenicity of foods, 52.1% have a regular level of knowledge and 47.9% have a low level of knowledge. Finally, in the dimension of Use and consumption of cariogenic foods, 60% of the respondents have a regular level of knowledge, followed by 25% of the respondents who have a low level of knowledge. When cross-referencing information on the level of knowledge according to sex, age and educational level, the highest percentages are found in the male sex with a low level of knowledge (69.6%) and in the female sex 55.3% also with the same level of knowledge. The age range with the highest percentage is from 18 to 25 years old with 72.6% of low level of knowledge followed by 56 to more years old with 71.4% with the same level of knowledge. The Xi-squared homogeneity test established that there are differences in age according to their levels of knowledge, with a tendency for knowledge to increase with age (p>0.05). Finally, the highest percentage is in the secondary education level with a low level of knowledge (82.4%) followed by 67.9% with higher technical education and low level of knowledge, the higher university education level also has a low level of knowledge with a high percentage of 48.6% of respondents with that level of education. It is concluded that 60% of the users of the Santa Clara clinic have a low level of knowledge about cariogenic foods.
