Sustainability is one of the biggest concerns because there are limited natural resources in the world. Livestock farming uses resources and converts them into food for human consumption. However, these activities are not always sustainable. For that reason, different sustainability assessment tools have been developed to help farmers to make better management decisions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the sustainability of llama husbandry in the Communal Cooperative San Pedro de Racco using the SAFA methodology in its four dimensions: good governance, environment, economic resilience and social wellbeing. The study was carried out in 4 phases: the first one was a mapping exercise, where the scope of the study and the activities to be evaluated are defined. In the second one, the themes and subthemes proposed by SAFA were contextualized, adapting them to llama husbandry and 67 indicators to be evaluated were selected. The third step was to obtain information through two interviews with members of the cooperative and to evaluate the selected indicators. Finally, in the fourth phase, a report was prepared based on the information obtained in the previous steps and displayed through a polygon of scores. As a result of the evaluation, a deficiency was found in the dimension of good governance, a regular performance in the dimensions of environment and economic resilience, and a good performance in the dimension of social wellbeing.
