Peruvian cotton is recognized worldwide for its excellent quality, highlighting the Tangüis and Pima varieties with long and extra-long fiber, so that this genetic potential can be expressed to its maximum potential, proper management of the crop is important, with fertilization being essential. to achieve this goal; Under this premise, a trial was installed in the Irrigation Unit of the Academic Department of Soils of the National Agrarian University La Molina in the 2021-2022 campaign, to evaluate the response of three varieties of cotton (MASSARO, UNA N°1, “Molinero extra long”) to the application of three levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilization; 80-40-80, 120-60-120 and 160-80-160 kg/ha of N-P2O5-K2O based on an unfertilized control and were distributed in 12 combinations with 4 repetitions. The statistical study was done using RCBD with factorial arrangement and the test of means with Duncan. The yield of raw cotton and fiber (kg/ha), fiber percentage, weight and number of acorns, fiber quality and plant morphology were evaluated. The results showed that increasing levels of NPK fertilization have a significant effect on yield. in branch and fiber of the three varieties. The response between varieties indicates that “Molinero extra long” has the highest yield in branches (3589 kg/ha) and fiber (1200 kg/ha); In general, it was the “Molinero extra long” variety that showed the greatest productive capacity. The three cotton varieties showed differences in fiber length, uniformity, fineness and strength. The greatest fiber length was obtained by the “Molinero extralong” variety with 39.8 mm. It is concluded in this trial that the application of increasing levels of NPK affected significantly and directly proportionally the cotton yields (kg/ha) of the three varieties. studied.
