The present study places eight different lettuce cultivars, Lactuca sativa L., under organic agronomic management conditions in a field in the district of La Molina, Lima, with the objective of evaluating their yield, dry matter, fresh weight, diameter, heigth and number of healthy lettuce harvested. The experimental design of completely randomized blocks (DBCA) was used in an open experimental field of 47m x 12m divided into four blocks (replications), each block consists of eight different lettuce cultivars (treatments), obtaining a total of 32 experimental plots, each plot is formed by three lines of lettuce planted under the distribution system of three bolls, with a separation of 0.25 m between plants and the application of drip irrigation. The statistical methods used were ANOVA and Tukey with 0.05 coefficient of significance. The results of the experiment show significant differences for yield, dry matter, fresh weight, diameter and number of healthy lettuce plants; there was no significant difference for plant length. There was a similar pattern of behavior among the cultivars belonging to the leaf type lettuce, and the same for iceberg type lettuce. Considerable losses of lettuce due to not reaching a quality standard occur in the treatments corresponding to iceberg lettuce types due to crowding, little aeration space, high humidity and high temperatures, which bring with them the presence of fungi and bacteria. Sanitary control of pests and diseases was done through cultural practices and applications of products permitted by Peruvian organic technical regulations. A greater distance between plants is recommended for iceberg lettuce types.
