The “Centro de Capacitation de Desarrollo” (CECADE) researches and trains the different applications of the use of renewable energies in the District of Yaurisque, Department of Cusco; therefore has implemented a donated photovoltaic pumping system composed by a solar pump, a photovoltaic panel and a raised tank with the purpose for being used in irrigation for agriculture in dry seasons (April-September). However; the components of this system need to be evaluated to corroborate that they act according to the technical characteristics given by the manufacturer, under the different climatic conditions of the place and that they respond with the necessary efficiency for its purpose. The testing period of this investigation was from August 30th to September 6th, the daily volume supplied in field was 4.17m3/day, and this is because the slump of the well did not allow the continuous pumping despite the good radiation conditions. The global efficiency is 24.95%, obtained from the product of the efficiencies of the solar pump (26.12%) and the photovoltaic panel (95.54%). For the statistical analysis, the independent variables were considered such as: radiation, temperature, wind speed; as a dependent variable the flow supplied by the pump and the current generated by the photovoltaic panel, determining that these variables are very dependent on solar radiation. In conclusion, the photovoltaic pumping system don’t work at maximum efficiency because the pump is running at a much lower than optimal height. Under these conditions have been calculated that the maximum area to irrigate is 3400 m2, for crops of corn starch, wheat and vegetables, according to the water requirements of these crops, which are adapting to climate and altitude conditions of the area
