Objective: to identify the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in infants aged 6 months to 24 months attended at the Centro Materno Infantil México in the city of Lima, during the year 2023. Materials and methods: quantitative approach, non experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The sample consisted of 78 mothers of infants aged 6 to 24 months. The instruments were data collection forms. Results: the prevalence of anemia according to its types, in which 41% (N=32) of the children present mild anemia, followed by 39.7% (N=31) with moderate anemia, while 19.2% (N=15) present severe anemia. It is evident that the p value is equal to 0.00 for the place of residence, which is significant and less than the significance level (α=0.05). This implies that place of residence is significantly associated with the presence of anemia. Number of children and prematurity show values of p=0.014 and p=0.008, respectively, both lower than the significance level α=0.05. The consumption of fish three times a week and the consumption of breast milk showed values of p=0.036 and p=0.026. Conclusions: the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in infants aged 6 months to 24 months attended at the Centro Materno Infantil México were place of residence, age, number of children, prematurity, consumption of milk and fish.
