Most of the mechanical workshops in our town (Chiclayo) do not have a quality management methodology implemented in their daily activities. This hinders the efficiency of the processes carried out within the workshop, increasing downtime, disorder, a shortage of supplies, and staff incapacity, among others. The implementation of total product maintenance (TPM) is a viable alternative for improving the capabilities of technical staff and increasing the availability of workshop equipment. Within this research, a descriptive investigation of the applied type has been carried out, where a methodology for the implementation of total productive maintenance for a damaged vehicle repair shop is detailed. The investigation begins with the diagnosis of the current one, where the most critical situation processes and the inefficiencies that reduce the productivity of the workshop are determined. Subsequently, the 10 steps are carried out for the implementation of the TPM in an organization, adapting it in the best way to apply it to a damaged vehicle repair workshop. In the next step, the economic valuation of the implementation of the TPM, the human and material resources involved in the procedures is carried out. Finally, the development of manuals was deemed convenient to complement the knowledge of the technical staff and the committees in charge of implementation.
