Objective: To describe the sun protection practices of agricultural workers in the Culpon Alto hamlet in the Íllimo district. Method: Qualitative study, descriptive design. The sample was determined by saturation and redundancy, thus obtaining 15 participants; for data collection, a semi-structured interview guide was used. The data were examined through content analysis and met the criteria of ethical and scientific rigor. Results: a) Care routine with hours of solar photoexposure, b) Use of trees to withstand the heat, c) Use of traditional clothing as sun protection for agricultural work, d) Application of sunscreen and obstacles to its use. Conclusion: Farmers carry out some sun protection practices among which it stands out that most establish their work schedule between 7 am and 11 am as a measure of sun protection; they also take advantage of the microclimate under the trees in the farms to rest during the day; Regarding clothing, most of the interviewees stated that they wore wide-brimmed hats, as well as worn-out clothing such as polo shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and long pants; the use of sunscreen is scarce, conditioned by the economic factor, lack of habit and discomfort, and lack of knowledge of its correct use.
