Currently, the implication of nanotechnology within the field of civil engineering has become very relevant, leading to the use of novel nanomaterials as construction materials. In this way, through the elaboration of concrete blocks adding graphene nanoplatelets for structural uses in houses exposed to seismic risks. The elaborated blocks are made of standard concrete with the addition of graphene nanoplatelets of 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% with respect to the weight of cement. They were tested for their physical and mechanical properties as units, prisms and masonry walls. In the results, regarding their physical properties, it was demonstrated that graphene nanoplatelets contribute to the impermeability of the concrete blocks; regarding their mechanical properties, it is evidenced that they notably increase the compressive strength in units and prisms and diagonal compressive strength in masonry walls. Thus, the material is optimal for use in walls subjected to high loads and humid conditions.
