The present research had the general objective of analyzing the barriers that prevent the adoption of the circular economy in a textile industry in Lima. Likewise, the specific objectives were to analyze the attitudinal, financial, structural, operational and technological barriers that prevent textile industries from adopting a circular economy model in Lima. This is a case study, with a descriptive applied qualitative approach, which consisted of a sample of 7 employees, selected with prior coordination with the company's authority. For this research, an interview was applied which consisted of 17 questions for the owner and 11 for the rest of the interviewees, which were under the categories of financial, structural, operational, attitudinal, and technological barriers. As main results, it was obtained that the barriers that prevent the adoption of a circular economy in said textile industry are the operational barriers, due to the fact that there are no actions related to a circular economy and the materials used in the processes are not recovered, the technological barriers, because they lack up-to-date machinery, financial barriers, because the financial profitability of implementing a circular economy model is unknown and because they do not properly control the losses generated in the manufacturing processes, and finally the structural barriers, due to that sufficient training is not established and the authorities have not established regulations that support the environment within the textile industry.
