The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between knowledge, maternal practices and the nutritional status of children receiving complementary feeding in a health center in Chiclayo, 2023. This study was carried out with a quantitative approach, using a non-experimental design. , transversal and descriptive-correlational in nature. The research involved a sample of 273 mothers selected from a population of 945 using the simple random probability sampling method. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire designed by: Spipp, Marri, Llanes, Rivas and Rie, 2020, validated and reliable with a Crombach alpha coefficient of 0.81. The results showed that 71% of the children had an adequate nutritional status. 27% of mothers did not reach the desired level of knowledge regarding complementary feeding, 24% obtained a low level and almost a third (29%) a moderate level. Regarding practices, 19% of mothers did not achieve the expected level, the vast majority (77%) obtained a low level, 4% obtained a moderate level and none reached a high level. When analyzing the correlation between these three variables, it is concluded that maternal knowledge and practices on complementary feeding did not show a significant association with the nutritional status of the children treated at the health center, since the p-value exceeded the error or significance. tolerated (0.05 < p-value).
