The massive consumption of concrete in the world has generated an increase in the extraction of aggregates from quarries and river banks, this has led to a shortage, mainly of fine aggregate. This problem was initially evident in developed countries, although in the last decade it has also appeared in developing countries. For this reason, an alternative source of extraction of this fine aggregate is beach sand. The purpose of this research work is to evaluate the influence of beach sand as a total replacement of fine aggregate in the production of concrete. Tests were carried out on the concrete in the plastic state such as settlement, exudation, air content, setting time and unit weight, as well as in the hardened state such as resistance to compression, flexion, cracking and durability to wear and exposure to solutions. sulfated. The test results show that the use of beach sand influences the properties of the concrete. Of the properties of the plastic state concrete evaluated, exudation and air content were the ones that showed significant variability with respect to the standard concrete; On the contrary, the properties in the hardened state, although they presented a reduction, this is not substantial since they continue to comply with the required resistance and durability. On the other hand, the economic analysis shows that concrete made with beach sand has a lower cost compared to standard concrete.
