Background: Oral health is mainly affected by dental caries and gingivitis in children under 12 years of age. Individual and socioeconomic factors such as poverty and accessibility to dental services increase the inequity gap. Objective: To determine the tooth brushing inequity gap in children under 12 years of age in Peru, 2022. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional type, a secondary database analysis was performed. The study population is represented by the 2022 Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES) database of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) of Peru. A total of 26,437 records of children under 12 years of age were taken into account nationwide. The dependent variable is brushing teeth at least twice a day. The independent variable is the wealth index and the covariates are: Natural region, area of residence, place of residence, health insurance ownership, attitude, sex, and age. In the analysis plan, descriptive and comparative analyses were performed to identify the relationship between the variables, as well as the impact of the covariates on the frequency of tooth brushing. Results: The results show that in Model 4, when the covariates were included, no association was found between the rich vs. very poor category (p= 0.184) and very rich vs. very poor (p=0.050). Conclusions: There is no association between brushing teeth at least twice a day and wealth index in children under 12 years of age in Peru in 2022.
