Today, population growth and industrial activities have generated the production of solid waste that is sent to landfills and contaminates the environment, generating social and environmental problems; Therefore, the objective of the research was: Design a proposal for a municipal solid waste characterization plan for the district of Humay-Province of Pisco, 2023. The methodology was of an applied type, descriptive level and non-experimental design. The sample was represented by Strata A and B of the Humay district. The solid waste characterization study was carried out, based on the "Solid Waste Characterization Guide" established by MINAM. The results were: Household waste: RSM per-capita generation = 0,554551 kg/inhab/day, with a standard deviation of 0,28. Uncompacted density = 197,71 kg/m3 . Moisture percentage = 51,34%. Likewise, for waste of non-residential origin from commercial establishments: Warehouses, sales outlets, bakeries and others = generation of 2,46 kg/establishment/day. Bookstores, booths, bazaars and booths) = generation of 1,46 kg/establishment/day. Hardware store = generation of 1,44 kg/establishment/day. Pharmacies, pharmacies, beauty salons and hairdressers = generation of 1,70 kg/establishment/day. Entertainment center = generation of 1,91 kg/establishment/day. Hotels = generation of 3,49 kg/establishment/day. Restaurant = generation of 2,26 kg/establishment/day. Public and/or Private Institutions = a generation of 1,51 kg/establishment/day. Therefore, in the district of Humay, a generation of 3,2690 tons of residential MSW is estimated, a daily generation of 3,609 tons of MSW, derived from all its generators and a general uncompacted density of 197.67 kg. /m3.
