This study focuses on the analysis of the procurement process for goods and services equal to or less than 8 UIT in the District Municipality of Yucay, located in the province of Urubamba, Cusco, during the year 2024. The objective of the research is to identify and assess deficiencies in the various stages of the procurement process, from requirements definition to internal verification. The findings reveal that the three evaluated dimensions— Requirements, Market Interaction, and Internal Verification—have averages classified as "Very Low," indicating serious deficiencies in the management of these procurements. The lack of clarity in defining requirements, ineffective market interaction, and weak internal controls contribute to an inefficient and opaque procurement process, impacting the transparency and proper use of public resources. Based on these findings, specific recommendations are proposed for the responsible areas within the Municipality, aimed at improving procedures and ensuring a more efficient and transparent management of the procurement processes. The study concludes with an urgent need to implement improvements across all phases of the process to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public administration.
