The present investigation is focused on finding how related the public investment of the canon and sobrecanon item is with the human development index at the district level in Peru, considering the investment of canon and sobrecanon as the independent variable and the HDI. as the dependent variable. The information was obtained from the platforms of the Ministry of Economy (Friendly Consultation) and reports published by the United Nations Program on the human development index at the district level. The inductive method was used in the investigation. Deductive, with a type of non-experimental and longitudinal research. The analysis is carried out by applying a multiple linear regression model with graphs that allow to see the behavior of the variables of interest and dispersion diagrams over time. The regression model coefficients will be estimated using the least squares model the variance analysis test for the effect of the general model and T test for the parameters. The results found demonstrated that there is a positive relationship between the investment of canon and overcanon and the human development index, covering a database with information from 1874 districts of Peru in a period of 13 years, it is shown that the districts with the lowest amount of canon have human development indices in a range of 24% to 42%; while the group of districts with the largest amount of canon has human development indices between 34% to 66%. In this way, it is observed that the higher the fee, the higher the human development index.
