In order to identify the risk factors associated with premalignant lesions of the cervix and assess their level of risk, the present study was conducted at the Punta del Este Health Center in the Tarapoto district. To this end, we have worked with 283 users who came to the establishment in 2015 and 2016, who were also screened for Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIAA) and Papanicolau (PAP), a control case study was conducted. Of the total users, 71 users (25.09%), were positive to premalignant lesions, which makes an incidence of 2.5 x 1000 women of childbearing age and only one case of insitu cancer. The age under 24 years old is the only psychosocial factor associated with premalignant lesions (P <0.05). None of the sexual behavior factors studied show association with premalignant lesions. The fact of having suffered any kind of STIs is a factor that is associated with the appearance of premalignant lesions (P <0.05) and with an OR = 2.92, that is, with a very high level of risk. Being multigesta is a reproductive factor associated with premalignant lesions (P <0.05), with a high level of risk, too (OR = 2.30, CI = 0.71-7.61). The history of having or have had family members who suffered cancer was another associated factor (P <0.05). The factors with slight risk for the appearance of premalignant lesions of the cervix are: antecedent of two or more abortions (OR = 1.33, CI: 0.54-3.27) and having among 3 to 4 sexual partners (OR = 1.43, CI: 0.80-2.55). The factor with moderate risk for the appearance of premalignant lesions of the cervix is the practice of vaginal-oral intercourse (OR = 1.77, CI: 0.67-4.69). The factors with high risk for the appearance of premalignant lesions of the cervix are: maternal age over 45 years (OR = 2.28, CI: 0.91-5.72); large multigesta, larger than 5 (OR = 2.30; IC: 0.71-7.61); antecedent of STIs (OR = 2.92, CI: 1.02-8.4). The factors with very high risk for the appearance of premalignant lesions of the cervix are: Degree of illiterate instruction (OR = 6.02, CI: 1.08-33.883); student occupation (OR = 3.14, CI: 0.97-10.16); Maternal age under 24 years (OR = 3.42, CI: 1.46-7.98). The use of condom is recommended to avoid ITS, which is an important factor to deal with premalignant lesions of the uterine cervix.
