The present research project, called Evaluation and Design of the Soil-Bearing Capacity for foundation purposes for multi-family dwellings in the Pucallpa river, in the district of Shanao, Lamas, San Martin, aims to determine the bearing capacity, as well as the study, identification and recognition of the different soil types in the area of the CC.NN Pucallpa. In order to develop this research work, field reconnaissance was previously carried out to determine the location of the exploration points that were made in the open to obtain the respective samples for further study. With the equipment of the laboratory the classification of the soil and its main characteristics was obtained. Applying the theory of Terzagui and with the contribution of the triaxial compression test, as a result of the study, the necessary parameters were obtained, such as the cohesion, the angle of friction and the density of the soil under study, for the determination of the admissible capacity, being elaborated the respective zoning plans. As conclusions you have to, with the determination of bearing capacity, we can say that the soils of the CC.NN Pucallpa, are soils with conditions for surface foundations, at the same time this research will allow the residents of the district to reduce their expenses in the construction of a building, in safe conditions.
