The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between anemia in vulnerable population and the response capacity to COVID-19, at the "Virgen del Pilar" Children's Village, Morales district - San Martin, 2020. It is a basic research with a non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional design. The census population consisted of 42 research subjects. Survey technique and questionnaire instrument were applied. Results: The prevalence of anemia was 69%, with 72.4% predominance of the female sex. The proportion of patients infected by COVID-19 was 100.0% (42), of whom 64.3% (27) showed symptoms and 35.7% (15) did not. The response capacity to COVID-19 of the vulnerable population was predominantly respiratory behavior with 24.1%, in relation to non-respiratory behavior with 17.5%, on average, respectively. The relationship between the types of anemia in the vulnerable population and the capacity to respond to COVID-19 was predominantly respiratory in 33.3% of the group with mild anemia, 9.5% with moderate anemia and 19% without anemia. Non-respiratory behavior was observed in 33.3% of the vulnerable population with mild anemia, 4.8% with moderate anemia and 14.3% without anemia. The results showed that there was no relationship between variables with a p-value > 0.05.
