This research evaluated the coagulation-flocculation treatment process in the removal of colloidal solids and the improvement of these properties. Water was collected from a water well in the Juan Antonio sector and the samples were analyzed before and after treatment using a Moringa oleifera-based biocoagulant. In order to obtain the biocoagulant, the seeds were obtained and crushed with a mortar and pestle, thus obtaining a whitish powder that was passed through a N°100 sieve, for subsequent extraction of oils and fats with a vacuum filter equipment. Ethanol at 95.0% was used for this extraction, the procedure was repeated 5 times. Once the oils and fats were removed from the powder, the alcohol in the powder was volatized in an oven at 99° for 24 hours. The results of the treatment showed a significant reduction in all the parameters analyzed, regarding turbidity a reduction of 96.3 % was observed, and 85.1 % for color. In the case of pH, it did not present a representative level of alteration with the application of the biocoagulant, since it remained relatively within the range of 6.5 to 8.5. It was concluded that water treatment with biocoagulant has a high efficiency at an optimum dose of 10.0 mg/L, reducing the initial turbidity from 133.0 UNT to 4.9 UNT, demonstrating high removal efficiency, meeting below the values established for human consumption and reducing the initial color from 375.0 UNT to 56.0 UNT, exceeding the values established for human consumption.
