The present investigation, entitled "Material and economic valuation of municipal solid waste from the city of Soritor in the province of Moyobamba", was carried out in the urban area of this city, with the aim of determining the value of municipal solid waste from the city of Soritor, in the district of Soritor in the province of Moyobamba. The results of the study on the characterisation of solid waste in the city of Soritor were organised and processed. The results were obtained from the composition (usable, non-usable and hazardous waste) of which 75% is usable - of which 50.53% is compostable and 49.47% is recyclable - followed by hazardous solid waste with 15.09% and the quantity of waste, with which the material and energy value could be calculated. The material value was obtained from the usable waste, which through its treatment can obtain income, such as the sale of humus obtained from the processing of organic matter (possible income of S/. 3,848.00 monthly) and from the commercialisation of recyclable waste (possible income of S/1,521.887 monthly). 887 monthly); with reference to the energetic value, electric energy could be obtained through the calorific potential and thermal conversion, having as a result of the calculation of 8.088 MW/year with its calorific potential and by thermal conversion processes (incineration, gasification and pyrolysis) we have 255.422 MW/year.
