Benchmarking of the physical-mechanical characteristics of portland cement type I WAN PENG PERU Despite the importance of cement as a fundamental constituent in the manufacture of new variants that meet the essential criteria of N.T.P. (normal temperature and pressure), there is a lack of knowledge about the mechanical-physical properties of Wang Peng cement and its possible modifications during the production process. The objective of this study was to carry out a comparative examination of the physical-mechanical properties of several brands of Portland cement available in northern and central Peru. Special emphasis was placed on type I WAN PENG PERU. The study of numerous characteristics, such as density, fineness, setting time, strength, air content and expansion, made it possible to ensure that the minimum standards indicated in N.T.P 334.009 were satisfactorily met. In summary, it has been proven that WAN PENG Type I Portland Cement, easily available in the northern and central regions of Peru, meets the quality criteria specified in N.T.P 334.009. In addition, it is important to recognize that the physical and mechanical characteristics of the cement may show variability due to the particular additives used in each unique batch.
