During the last thirty years, development policy has been dominated by export-led growth paradigm, however according to INEI (2017) the San Martin region reflects a decreasing trend of 6.3% in its economic growth. The purpose of the study was to analyze the influence of exports on the economic growth of the San Martin Region period 2011 - 2018, to identify the existing relationship between the exchange rate with the gross domestic product, to identify the existing relationship between the value of exports and the gross domestic product of the San Martin Region period 2011 - 2018. The type of the research was applied, descriptive explanatory, non-experimental - longitudinal design. Data from INEI, BCRP, and MINAGRI were used. The hypothetical-deductive method was used, using the ordinary least squares estimation method. The results showed that the exchange rate had a rise in 2012 with 2.57 soles, and in 2018 with 3.36 soles per dollar, the behavior of the GDP of the region is positive, in 2011 with a GDP of S/4,245,537.00 and in 2018 with S/6,056,217.00, the relationship between the exchange rate and the GDP has a considerable positive correlation. It was concluded that exports in the San Martin Region explain 77.20% of economic growth and indicate a considerable positive correlation, with a Pearson coefficient of 0.879. Finally, the influence of exports on economic growth is - 0.675 units for each unit of variation reflected in exports.
