Postoperative Complications of the Mininuc-Cataract Technique, Hospital II-1 Rioja, 2020-2022 Objectives: To describe the immediate and late postoperative complications of the mininuc surgical technique in patients with cataract at Hospital II-1 Rioja (2020-2022). Materials and methods: A retrospective observational study was performed using the medical records of patients undergoing the mininuc surgical technique at Hospital II-1 Rioja during the study period. Results: The study showed that the age range 70-79 years was the most frequent in the distribution of patients operated for cataracts with 36.5%. The female sex was more frequent with 54% of patients undergoing surgery, and both right and left eyes had the same frequency. Most of the operated patients did not have comorbidities and their frequency was 44%. Those who did present comorbidities, arterial hypertension was the most frequent with 31.14%, followed by diabetes mellitus type II with 14%. Postoperative best corrected visual acuity, with 62.5% being ≥20/40, while postoperative intraocular pressure was within normal range in 98%. The most frequent immediate postoperative complications were corneal edema with 60%, followed by conjunctival hyperemia with 37% and aphakia1%; finally, 84% of late postoperative complications did not occur, and those that did were posterior capsular opacification (16%), IOL subluxation (2%) and pupillary dyskoria (2%). Conclusions: The most frequent immediate postoperative complications related to cataract surgery under the Mininuc technique at Hospital II-1 Rioja (2020-2022) were corneal edema, conjunctival hyperemia, and aphakia; and the most frequent late postoperative complications related to cataract surgery under the Mininuc technique at Hospital II-1 Rioja (2020-2022) was Posterior capsule opacity and IOL subluxation.
