The following research was aimed to: Determine the factors associated with postpartum hemorrhage in postpartum patients treated at the Amazon Hospital of Yarinacocha - Pucallpa 2017. The type of study was descriptive correlational, retrospective cross-sectional population consisted of 96 postpartum women. Abdominal and vaginal delivery, who presented postpartum hemorrhage, the sample was made up of 100% of the population. The data were collected by reviewing medical records; the data were processed through the SPSS version 23 program. The results obtained were: The characteristics of postpartum hemorrhage in postpartum patients treated at the Yarinacocha Amazon Hospital according to the time of occurrence was 24 hours in 97% and bleeding between 500cc to 1000cc in 51% of patients and 49% with bleeding greater than 1000cc, of the 96 patients who presented postpartum hemorrhage, 69% are located between 20 - 35 years, with cohabiting marital status (73%), secondary education (65%) and housewife occupation (88%). Only 64% of postpartum women with postpartum hemorrhage had adequate prenatal control and 48% of them were multiparous. Uterine atony occurred in 68% of cases and 49% had an abdominal delivery. In addition, 23% had a birth canal injury. According to biological factors, 43% of the puerperal women presented anemia. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between the associated factors and postpartum hemorrhage, measured through the non-parametric Chi-square test because they are both nominal variables, obtaining a Χ² = 72,201 and a value p = 0.000 and the level of significance <0, 05.
