The objectives of this study were to determine the concentration of total phenols and antioxidant activity in dry and semi-dry wines from San Roque, San Antonio and San Pedro, within the Cumbaza River basin. A completely randomised design with a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement was applied, with three replications, totalling 18 trials. The dependent variables were the concentration of total phenols and antioxidant activity by the DPPH method, and the independent variables were the type of wine and the locality of origin. The dry wine from San Roque reported the highest concentration of phenols with 2.37±0.10 mgAG/L, while the dry wine from the same locality reported 2.26±0.19 mgAG/L of phenols. The antioxidant activity was proportional to the phenol content, i.e. the higher the phenol content, the higher the antioxidant activity. The dry wines from San Roque reported the highest antioxidant concentration of 10.54±0.25 mg Trolox/ml and the dry wine from the same locality had the highest antioxidant concentration of 11.12±0.26 mg Trolox/ml.
