This thesis has been developed in the Professional School of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the National University of San Martin - Tarapoto, for purposes of qualification as a Civil Engineer, having as working point the locality of San Cristobal. The work consists of a proposal for the treatment of water from the Huallaga River for the town of San Cristóbal de Sisa, San Hilarión district, Picota province, San Martin Region, in order to provide them with a quality and efficient service of drinking water , Due to the fact that in 2009 the regional government implemented a drinking water project and from the culmination to date is inoperative, for reasons that the projected source is of the underground type and the water contains concentrations higher than those indicated in the regulation National quality. For this reason, the proposed source for abstraction and the type of rapid filtration plant and CEPIS technology for the treatment proposed will replace the existing groundwater supply by surface water of the treated Huallaga River, using existing structures such as high reservoir, Distribution and home connections. Achievements indicate that it is possible to obtain treated water that complies with the requirements established in the national water quality regulation and, in this way, ensure that drinking water and / or harmless water is actually delivered to the population, taking advantage of the water resource of A source as close to the town and large (Flow) as the Huallaga River.
