The objective of this research was to identify the relationship between the level of knowledge and frequency of use of emergency oral contraception in adolescents of the I.E Manuel Fidencio Hidalgo Flores, 2021. Methodology: Quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional research. The population was made up of a total of 209 adolescents from the I.E Manuel Fidencio Hidalgo Flores, 2021, who met the inclusion criteria. Results: 71% of adolescents showed a sufficient knowledge of emergency oral contraception, 19% of adolescents had a deficient level of knowledge, and finally 10% of adolescents had an excellent level of knowledge. Among adolescents who are 16 years old, 57% have used emergency oral contraception 0 to 1 time or their partner has used it, 4% have used it 2 to 3 times and 1% have used it more than 3 times. Regarding the reason, 59% of the adolescents do not remember the reason for using emergency oral contraception, 35% indicate that the reason for using emergency oral contraception is to prevent pregnancy due to unprotected sex and 4% used it because the condom broke or slipped. Conclusion: A p-value (0.296) was found to be greater than the significance level (α = 0.05), indicating that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and frequency of use of emergency oral contraception in adolescents. In addition, it can be supposed that there may be a lack of knowledge about emergency oral contraception, leading to another gap. It is therefore recommended that measures be taken to access contraceptive and sexual education services.
