This research is entitled: "Determination of the ecological status of Juninguillo Ravine using hydrobiological and physicochemical parameters, Moyobamba - 2016”. The objective of the study was to determine the water quality of the Juninguillo stream through hydrobiological (macroinvertebrate) and physicochemical studies (pH, conductivity, temperature, BOD5, COD, nitrates and nitrites). Three areas of study or sampling (high, medium and low) were determined. In the case of the macroinvertebrates, the biological index was modified and adapted for rivers of northern Peru (NPeBMWP), giving a number from 1 to 10 to the relative families found, obtaining an average sum of 64, which established an acceptable biological indicator; on the other hand, in terms of physicochemical studies, six parameters were established that were compared with the established national environmental quality standards, modified and tested by Supreme Decree No. 15-2015-MINAM. Subsequently it was compared using the Pearson coefficient to compare the relationship between the two results; this comparison was at the level of biological quality and physicochemical quality. Similarly, a basic hydromorphological study was devised to determine the continuity of the creek, its flow as well as the georeferencing of the points and/or sampling stations. Based on the results from this research, the conclusion was reached that the findings obtained by the hydrobiological study is directly proportional and greatly consistent with the results obtained by the physicochemical study, in the same way the hydromorphological studies conform to the morphology and previous studies, obtaining a “good ecological state".
