Anemia is an obstetric condition where the hemoglobin levels in the blood are low, which means that there is an insufficient amount of red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the mother's body. This can cause maternal and perinatal complications that can occur during pregnancy, delivery or postpartum, both for the mother and the baby. Maternal complications include hemorrhage and problems with the placenta. Perinatal complications can include premature delivery, low birth weight, fetal distress, asphyxia. The objective was to determine the relationship between anemia and maternal-fetal complications during pregnancy, Hospital II-1 Moyobamba 2023. The research was basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational design, with a population and sample of 69 pregnant women with anemia, the data collection technique was documentary review and the data collection form was used as an instrument. The results showed that 68.1% of pregnant women had mild anemia, followed by 27.5% had moderate anemia and 4.3% had severe anemia. The level of maternal and fetal complications reveal a significant distribution in terms of severity. In the case of maternal complications, 29 % are classified as "high", while in the case of fetal complications, this percentage is slightly lower with 27.5 %. A statistically significant association exists between preeclampsia and different levels of anemia, in 7.2 % of the cases related to mild anemia, 10.1 % to moderate anemia and 1.4 % to severe anemia. In addition, there is a significant association between anemia and the need for blood transfusion, as well as difficulty in performing daily activities during pregnancy. However, even though there is a trend towards association, no significant difference was found in the proportion of complications such as preterm birth, hemorrhage and postpartum depression with the different levels of anemia. In conclusion, a significant association exists between different levels of anemia and both maternal and fetal complications. A total of 36.2 % of the cases of maternal complications are linked to mild anemia, while no associations were found with moderate or severe anemia. Women with mild anemia face higher risk of experiencing maternal complications compared to those without anemia or with moderate or severe anemia. In addition, there is an association between fetal complications and different levels of anemia in 33.3 % of the cases of fetal complications associated with mild anemia, while only 5.8 % are related to moderate anemia, and no cases were found associated with severe anemia.
