The following research work was carried out in an acid soil (pH 3.82) from the province of Tocache, San Martín region, high forest of Peru. The specific objectives considered for the research were: to evaluate the effect of four doses of the application of laying hen in the agronomic characteristics and yield of the cowpea crop (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp), Blanco Cumbaza variety. Determine the dose of chicken manure most appropriate to obtain the highest yields of the crop. Carry out the economic analysis of the treatments under study. The statistical design of blocks completely randomized (DBCR) with four blocks, five treatments and with a total of 20 experimental units was used. The treatments were: 10, 20, 30 and 40 t.ha-1 of chicken manure and an absolute control. Ecologically, the place where the following research work was developed is a tropical humid forest life zone (bh-T). The conclusions that were reported were that with the T4 treatment (40 t.ha-1 of chicken manure), the highest crop yield was obtained reaching 1 865.0 kg.ha-1; also the highest weight of 100 seeds with 27.5 g. In addition, the highest benefit / cost value was obtained with 1.41 and a net benefit of S/. 1615.80 soles per hectare. Growing applications of poultry from 10 to 40 t.ha-1 compared to the T0 treatment (control) had positive linear responses in plant height in cm, weight of 100 seeds in grams and yield in kg.ha-1 and with the application of the doses of chicken manure were obtained average statistically equal to each other in the number of pods per plant, length of the pod and days to flowering statistically surpassing the control treatment.
