The present research Project has the goal was to find a possible association between two important variables in the process of execution of strokes linked to the development of laterality and writing skills in 5 years old boys and girls in the Initial School N. 089 of the Rioja city, in the year 2013. The study has worked with a sample of 22 boys and girls extracted from a population of 62. Our research focuses on the design called descriptive correlational research, supported on two checklists to verify first the current level of development of laterality and second, the writing skills of children aged 5 years. The results are presented processed into two blocks, the first block has a descriptive character on the basis of an analysis of the value and trend of frequencies and the second block confronts the two variables through a correlation coefficient analysis chi square Pearson. It was found that 5 years old boys and girls have a defined level of laterality and developed determined by 73% of the sample. Similarly, the trend in the level of writing skills is in expected accomplishment, given by 64% of the sample. While most through the fence of the difficulties, the remaining 36% is what we must continue calling us attention. When data were compared in testing hypotheses it proved the existence of a relationship between the level of development of laterality and writing skills in children 5 years of School Home No. 089 city of Rioja with 95% probability for a factor of 10. 69 square Chi.
