The present investigation developed, seeks to zone the soils through and according to their bearing capacity of the population center of Pongo de Caynarachi of the Caynarachi district, belonging to the province of Lamas, San Martin Region, and how this influences the construction of the houses of said area, knowing that it is of great importance to know and understand the admissible capacity of the soil before designing the foundation of a home, which is based on technical criteria and that they are functional soil - structure, in such a way that in the construction of housing is very useful and necessary because the structure has to be designed to withstand large-scale earthquakes and safeguard the lives of the inhabitants, and they also have to be resistant and not vulnerable to any eventuality of nature, Considering as an objective The main task is to prepare the zoning of the soils according to the bearing capacity of the soils, to develop the zoning, and to determine their physical-mechanical properties according to the various laboratory tests and the results that these show on the soils of the Caynarachi district, belonging to the province of lamas and the San Martin Region. Likewise, the present research is of the applied type and with an explanatory level and has a non-experimental design. The exploration of 25 pits, located in the study area, was carried out. As a result of the research, the load-bearing capacity values were determined, which the pits C-08, C-13, C-15, C-16, C-18 and C-25 were analyzed and the values of 1.25 kg/cm2, 2.07 kg/cm2, 0.79 kg/cm2, 4.69 were obtained. kg/cm2, 1.32 kg/cm2 and 0.66 kg/cm2 respectively, and finally with these values and soil characteristics the following zones were determined; ZONE I: 1.25 to 1.32 kg/cm2, ZONE II: 2.07 kg/ cm2 to 4.69 kg/cm2, ZONE III: 0.66 to 0.79 kg/cm2, with this information it will help to focus the soils of the district and thus have a good design of the foundation of the homes in the future and it is safe and stable in the event of an earthquake.
