The objective of this research was to: Determine the relationship between the family social climate and the level of self-esteem in HIV-AIDS patients of the Antiretroviral Therapy Program of Great Activity (HAART) at Moyobamba II-1 Hospital from June to November 2017, the following was cross-sectional correlation descriptive study, the sample consisted on 58 patients receiving antiretroviral treatment applying two instruments: Family Social Climate Scale and the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. In the results obtained, 43.1% of patients with HIV-AIDS have a moderately favorable family social climate, with a tendency to unfavorable in 29.3%. The family social climate is favorable in the relation dimension with 39.71%; in the development and stability dimension, the family social climate is moderately favorable with 53.4% and 55.2% respectively. 48.3% of patients have a low self-esteem level, with an average tendency of 29.3%. The family social climate according to the dimensions of greater relation with self-esteem is the stability dimension with (p = 0.019); (p <0.05). It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the family social climate and the self-esteem level in patients with HIV-AIDS of the HAART Program with p = 0.024; (95%) (p <0.05).
