The research entitled: Propose a methodology that allows the determination of earthquake risk scenarios, through the use of the geographic information system in the city of Moyobamba, 2015, what this is looking for is to obtain information on the different risk scenarios produced by earthquakes of great magnitude in the city of Moyobamba considering. That is why there is a need to conduct a risk study in the city of Moyobamba. Achieving the following conclusions: on the distribution of housing according to the construction material, the highest percentage in the brick / cement block type (63.50%) and the lowest in adobe / tapia (4.00%) being the most vulnerable material; on seniority, the highest percentage (63%) is that which is 0 to 15 years old and the lowest is 38 to more years; with respect to the state of conservation, it was obtained that the great majority (63%) of the houses that are in good condition and 18% of houses are in bad condition; the seismic aspects were determined by the danger map, in which two faults were identified; longitudinal faults (Campana and Gera) and transverse faults (Yanayacu). It was possible to determine the risk scenario based on danger and vulnerability, this being the most vulnerable sector Azungue, Shango, part of the Tahuishco sector, which when an earthquake of great magnitude would result in loss of housing and possible lives in approximately 20% from the city of Moyobamba.
