The general objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the chlorination system's disinfection efficiency and the lower incidence of ADDs in the public health of the inhabitants of the Potrerillo - Jepelacio population center. The methodology for data collection was based on the measurement of residual chlorine in the upper, middle and lower parts of the Potrerillo village. The medical post in Potrerillo was asked for the clinical history of the villagers who showed cases of illnesses such as diarrhea to compile the clinical cases. A survey was conducted in 15 households to obtain information on water quality and cases of illnesses caused by water consumption. Descriptive statistics were used to organize the information in tables and figures. To correlate water quality (residual chlorine) with public health (ADDs), Spearman's correlation test was used. The results showed that the water treatment system was not adequately chlorinating the water, resulting in serious health problems for the population. Twenty-one clinical cases of patients were collected, where all were diagnosed with diarrhea, having symptoms related to poor water quality. In addition, Spearman's correlation test had a value of r = -0.583 indicating that there is a moderate negative relationship between the disinfection efficiency of the chlorination system and the lower incidence of ADDs in public health. Finally, it can be stated that the water condition would not be ideal; thus it is harming the health of the inhabitants of Potrerillo, in short, the poorer the condition of the water, the more cases of illnesses there will be, indicating that there is a moderate negative relationship.
