Objective: To determine the main neonatal complications associated with fetal macrosomia in patients treated at Hospital II-2 Tarapoto, period January to December 2019. Material and method. A descriptive, observational, prospective study was carried out, which consisted of a sample of the total number of newborns with fetal macrosomia, which is 118. Results: Of the 118 children born with fetal macrosomia, 32% (38) 87 came from Tarapoto. Regarding the type of delivery it was found that 81% (95) were born by caesarean section. Regarding the sex of newborns, 65% (77) were found to be male. A prevalence of 10% was found, which means that of every 100 children born, 10 of them are macrosomic, or one (1) of every 10 children is born with fetal macrosomia. It was also found that 64 of them experienced complications, which resulted in a prevalence of 54%. The main complications found were: 56% (36) MLAS considerations, 11% (7) hypoglycemia, 9% (6) circular simple cord, 8% (5) transient tachypnea of the newborn, 6% (4) ) Caput succedaneum, congenital malformations and neonatal sepsis each 3% (2), respiratory distress syndrome and jaundice 2% (1) each. Conclusion: The following research paper concludes that there is a 10% prevalence of macrosomic newborns. 54% had complications. The main complications found were: MLAS 56% (36), hypoglycemia 11% (7), circular simple cord 9% (6), transient tachypnea of the newborn 8% (5), caput succedaneum 6% (4), congenital malformations and neonatal sepsis each 3% (2), respiratory distress syndrome and jaundice 2% (1) each.
