The San Martin region, stands out as the main cocoa producing area, becoming an alternative for commercialization and consequently for exportation, allowing the entrance of foreign currency to the country that contributes to the reduction of poverty in the rural territorial areas. The monetary exchange rate is a determining factor in the level of exports of a country as it contributes to the increase of exports, cocoa is a non-traditional export and is strongly linked to this behavior. The objective of the research was to determine the impact of the national exchange rate and cocoa production in the San Martin region between 2006 - 2015 on the cocoa exports. The hypothesis demonstrated that cocoa exports are influenced by the national exchange rate and cocoa production in the San Martin region between 2006 and 2015. The research type was applied, with an explanatory level, a non-experimental design was used, making use of the longitudinal design. The employed method was the hypothetical-deductive one, and the multiple linear regression model, using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation method. It is concluded that cocoa exports and the variables of national exchange rate and cocoa production in the San Martin region, is 87.5% for such variables as a whole, observing a joint correlation of 0.935, the same that corresponds to a very high positive correlation.
