The objective of this research was to: Establish the relationship between stress and quality of life of the students of the Professional School of Nursing of the National University of San Martin-Tarapoto. Period July-December 2017, the study was quantitative, descriptive-explanatory, cross-sectional and correlational, the sample consisted of 194 students, the technique used was the survey and as an instrument the questionnaire. The results obtained within the sociodemographic characteristics, it can be seen that the ages range between 17 to 19 years with 63.4%, 87.6% are female, 55.2% come from rural areas, 91.8% are single), 90.7% do not have children and 88.1% profess the Catholic religion, 48.5% have moderate stress, 30.4% mild stress and 21.1% severe stress, 28.9% have stress symptoms with a moderate level of stress, 16.0% present stress coping strategies with moderate stress and 14.9% present Stressors with moderate stress. In the physical aspect, 19.9% have poor quality of life, in the psychological aspect 19.1% have a regular quality of life, in the social aspect 17.0% have a regular quality of life, 50.7% have mild stress with a good quality of life, 36.1% moderate stress with regular quality of life, 59.2% severe stress with poor quality of life. Concluding that: there is a relationship between stress and quality of life, the non-parametric chi square test was applied with a level of significance p = 0.016.
