The present thesis entitled "The Parental Alienation Syndrome in the Processes of Child Custody in the Specialized Family Courts of Tarapoto, 2017-2018", has as general objective: To analyze the application of Parental Alienation Syndrome in Child Custody Proceedings in the Specialized Family Courts of Tarapoto, 2017-2018 and as specific objectives: (1) To analyze the legal and social characteristics of Parental Alienation Syndrome in the Processes of Child Custody in the Specialized Family Courts of Tarapoto, 2017-2018 (2) To analyze the substantiation of the sentences in the processes of child custody for Parental Alienation Syndrome, in the Specialized Family Courts of Tarapoto, 2017-2018. It presents the basic method type of research, of descriptive level with non-experimental design, since the values to be collected with the research instrument will not be altered by any method or experimental trial. It is concluded that the legal and social characteristics of Parental Alienation Syndrome in the Processes of Child Custody in the Specialized Family Courts of Tarapoto, 2017-2018 are referred to the legal basis in 30%, the legal elements equivalent to 30% and the average of the variables are a total of 40%.
