The generation of solid waste has grown exponentially, which has affected various ecosystems, including the ravines of the city of Moyobamba, such as the Mamashofi ravine. In the present study, a characterization of the composition of the solid waste found in this ravine was carried out. In addition, environmental inductions were carried out on a non-probabilistic sample in order to improve people's knowledge about solid waste management. The general objective of this research was: Environmental induction for the continuous improvement of solid waste management in the Mama Shofi-Moyobamba sector, 2021. The specific objectives of the project are: (i) to evaluate the current situation of solid waste generation and disposal, (ii) to apply strategies on solid waste management to the residents and merchants of the Mama Shofi Sector, (iii) to evaluate the impact of the environmental training on the continuous improvement of solid waste management for the residents and merchants of the Mama Shofi Sector. The results showed that the composition of solid waste in the Mamashofi ravine consisted of 74.6% inorganic waste and 24.4% organic waste. In general, the comparative results before and after the induction of the participants show a significant increase in the level of knowledge. In other words, 28% of the participants who had an average level of knowledge, achieved a high level of knowledge after the induction.
